Big Month of March!

As many of you know, when it comes to Pi Day, I get very excited. There were over thirty or so pictures of Pi Day, but I've decided to only post two...this top one is of cookies a student made. Notice the writing - Mrs. Ward loves pi day....how cute!!!

Pi day activities have varied from year to year, this year, I took the easy road and had the students decorate pi, and then hung them on the wall in the shape of pi....there was also a whole lot of pi hanging from my ceiling... I love PI!!!!

Remember the stuffed animal Christian gave Kenna? This is her sleeping with it that week. When she saw this picture, she asked, "Why did you take that picture? Missy always takes pictures of me sleeping sometimes!" (Missy ALWAYS takes pictures....SOMETIMES...lol)

Little man Jack

Jack and Kenna, their eyes never fail to amaze me

Kenna decided to climb trees one day...

I'm not sure why, but this is my favorite tree in the yard....I think she looks cute in it too....

Fun at the Airport!
(We saw some pictures and decided to look like tourists, taking about a MILLION pictures at the airport.....It's almost as if we are really at these locations!)

Here is Kenna in Westport

Me at the Plaza

Barbie at Union Station - looks like a nice day!

I couldn't help but to catch a quick pic of my little grown up little girl wheeling her suitcase down the aiport hallways

And since it was a momentous occasion - her first flight and all, I left no moment uncaptured....here she is washing her hands....

Waiting to board the aircraft...

K and J

Checking her luggage

Barbie and I waiting in line to get an "Escort" pass...I think this was only the second time this year I actually wore this coat....it's really big and warm

Here she is walking the tarmack

And she meets the pilot, gets on the plane and flies away.....she LOVED the flight...I think she's ready for the roller coasters!

Kenna, the Texan Cowgirl

OK, so this is fairly unusual that I would update the blog so quickly after my last update, but so many things happened today, I couldn't resist. First of all, Kenna received a prize for her AR points, silly string....When she gets silly string, we all go outside, and she is allowed to shoot us with it. The following pictures are of her trying to shoot Mark with the string.

The next thing that happened (and these are not in order)

Kenna had a visit from Christian's mom at school today. In case you are unaware, as most of you are, here is the story with Christian.

They have been best friends since Pre-K. They are both in GT together. They decided this year that they loved e
ach other. Christian's family moved a couple months ago, and the both of them have been extremely sad over the loss of their best friend. Christian's family is awesome, and I even taught his older sister three years ago, and now his older brother this year. Christian and Kenna were supposed to go see a movie last month together, with his family and have a good time. We had thunderstorms that day, so it was canceled. I think that covers the background story....

Onto current events....as I was saying, Christian's mother dropped by Kenna's school today to drop off a belated Valentines present. Christian sent her a stuffed puppy, and a "love note." The following is the note, word for word, letter for letter.....

"Dear Kenna, this is a late valintine prese
nt. Ive mist you so much. I didn't take you to see spiderwick because we almost died out thier. I wont come back because If I tried thier would be no place to go. when I graduate collage Ill come see you, love Christian."

(I assume the "dying out there" is in reference to the storm and the not coming back would be in reference to moving back.) Anyway, I just thought this was SUPER cute.

Here is the picture of Kenna holding her new stuffed dog and love note.

And finally, the third and last item, and this was how my morning started.

Kenna informed me that cowgirls wore pink. She then informed me that she would be dressing as a Texan Cowgirl today. Here are the pictures of Kenna, a Texan Cowgirl

Pink boots, pink shirt, pink jacket, and pink belt

It's officially March!

Grandma and Grandpa Arizona were in Lufkin over the weekend, so we spent the night there to spend some extra time with them. The weather was AWESOME, with the exception of some rain on Sunday. We went shopping, played skip-bo and learned to play "crazy dice." Kenna also lost yet another tooth last week...

The next few weeks are going to be busy, Kenna has a project due for her regular class, another on-going project for her Gifted/Talented class, we are going to Kansas City for Spring Break, Kenna is visiting Nebraska family, Jack gets his 6 month shots, and the month just started! I cannot believe how busy we already are!

Close up of Kenna

Kenna playing with Jack on the floor....I don't think you can see it here, but Jack's thigh's are larger than Kenna's upper arms.

She told me when she saw this picture that she wasn't ready for me to take the photo....
