Christmas is always messy

On Christmas Eve, we ate ham...

On Christmas morning, Santa had visited our house

Jack has really gotten the hang of ripping open packages

Kenna about flipped when she opened this present - it's a cup, two plates and a bowl from HSM

And she LOVED the Littlest Pet Shop toys

Here is the aftermath...the cats were glad the presents were gone from under the tree, they got their perch back! Notice Jack's bear riding on the sit n spin

Pre-Christmas update

Did you ever look at a picture of yourself and wonder, when on earth did I become old??? While I still have my "old" days, I have to say, I still feel 20 something....but I saw this picture and the truth is evident: I'm a mom, I'm a mom's age!!!! When did I become my MOTHER?!?!?

I thought this pic of Kenna was really cute...

Messing around with the camera....

We made sugar cookies tonight with my Aunt, this is Kenna holding my plate of cookies we brought home. (The candy cane, stocking and tree have been reserved for Santa)

Here is Kenna's plate of cookies, she left some of her prettier ones at the Aunt's for tomorrows Christmas party.

Jack is now saying cheese when you ask him too - and this is the lovely cheese smile that follows!

We got nearly a foot of snow last night, although this picture doesn't really reflect it, this is just the windblown flakes.....still that's A LOT of snow! (I am totally loving it)

Playing in the snow

These pictures are grossly out of order, but they are fun nonetheless!

Kenna and Jack on a sled - he doesn't look thrilled here, but I promise he was smiling....this was after they had ridden down the hill...

Going down the hill - told you these were out of order

Getting a little push down the hill

Jack fell face down in the snow, but he had fun anyway

A big snow angel

A baby snow angel - Jack had no idea what I was doing to him - but seemed enjoyed getting out of the house anyway.

I know this is blurry, but it was funny. Jack had fallen over in his snow get up, and literally, could not get back up.....

SNOW

We awoke this morning only to discover the first snow day of the year had been called! Now, maybe I just remember Missouri snow days, but this doesn't seem like enough to cancel school....why don't they want my daughter there?

Evidently we are on the side of the building the snow drifts on. We only received about 4 inches, but I can only imagine how bad it will be later this year.

Some bicycles down the path

Bushes covered with some odd white stuff

A step

Branches of trees

Kenna is beside herself with excitement. She's never really experienced this whole winter thing, or played in it for that matter. Well, there was this one time it snowed on her spring break in Nebbie-land, but other than that, nothing. Lesson today kids: don't take your snow days for granted!

Kenna's new glasses

In case you haven't heard, my darling, wonderful daughter had to get glasses. We finally picked them up this morning. I can't begin to tell you how excited she was to get them. What she doesn't realize is what a pain in the neck they are.....at least I think so...

SURPRISE!!!!!

OK, so I haven't really seen a winter, or snow for that matter in four years....here it is, the beginning of November, I open my door, and ta-da!!!! SNOW!!!!!!

After approximately 30 minutes: (notice the sidewalk is now covered)

10 minutes after that....

Stryder decided to get into a box I had just emptied. Yes, we've been here for a couple months....No, I am still not completely unpacked - and probably never will be. Most of our stuff is still in storage. I've come to the conclusion, if I've lived without for this long, I can live without it for a while longer.

The big chip

There was a big potato. It was made into a chip. It was the biggest chip in the world that made everyone come to see it. The mom and dad lied about them making it. The kid made it. At school everyone was saying how rich the kid was. The kids kept telling the kid how cool his mom and dad was. The kid finally said, "I made the big chip." Everyone at school was shocked. Before the bill came the reporters put it on the news. The mom and dad went to jail and the kid was rich. The end.

Kenna's bat story

My Bat Story

Hi, I'm Kenna. I have a bat named Skylar. She is the best bat in the world. I made a bat house for Skylar. I made a flying cage for my bat. Then I left the door open to the fly cage. Skylar flew off! It made me scared and frightened. That was the scariest thing in my life. Well, I got to go now.

Halloween fun

Kenna's classroom

Yeah apples!

Jack enjoying an apple

A look at my daughter's messy desk

Another new thing for Jack - eating apple slices! He must have had three or four at the party!

Jack's blue eyes

This is Jack's latest thing - if he knows you are taking a picture, and you say cheeese, he gives this face. Why do kids make funny faces when they know the camera is on?!?

Jack waving so fast his hands are a blur!

Kenna's make up!

The girls were trying to put fake nails on, but they kept coming off.

Kenna the vampire/princess/witch of doom/I don't know what and Jylene, a Bratz doll.

Everyone dressed and ready to head out! Jack HATED his costume...so he wasn't in the best of moods.

One of the places we went trick or treating was one of the local nursing homes. All of the older people just love seeing the kids all dressed up. Here is Kenna "bobbing for donuts."
